Superwhat?

Superbowl XLII is in 3 days. The New York Giants will take on the unbeaten New England Patriots in Arizona. Earlier today I decided to see how much it would cost to see the two teams square off and to be entertained at half time by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.

Two tickets will sell on eBay for anywhere between $4000-$10,000, not exactly pocket change.

At Stubhub the price range was even wider. From $2000-$12,000. $2000, might be do-able for the Superbowl, but don’t expect to get good seats at that price.

So, discouraged I thought to myself, “I have to make my mark on Superbowl XLII, how can I do it? Ah yes, I can advertise on TV during the game!! Brilliant.” (Due to this being a blog post I will tell you I say that with a great deal of sarcasm.)

$2.7 Million is the going rate for a 30 second ad during the big game, looks like I’ll have to stick to spam for a while to promote ZachBon.com. Haha…

    The Bucket List

    Zach’s rating (out of a possible 4): 2.6

The Bucket List is led by two great actors, Jack Nicholson, and Morgan Freeman. And they pretty much carry the film. This plot would not have worked without the chemistry between Nicholson and Freeman. It was a tough story to pull off but they did it right. One scene you will be laughing, the next crying, and thats hard to do. Definitely a “roller coaster of emotions” movie, that leaves you feeling good. I would recommend this flick for the more mature viewer, only because it is so deep.

    Bol’s rating (out of a possible 4): 3.25

The acting and chemistry between the leads is what really gives this move its punch. It gracefully transitions between the highs and lows of life that we know all too well. Nicholson and Freeman make you laugh and cry and and in some instances both at the same time. The Bucket list touches on some of the philosophies concerning death and does so with class. Overall and good film and one worth the $6.50 that I paid to see it.

    Superbowl Picks:

Zach’s pick: New England Patriots 24, NY Giants 21

Although I would love to see the Giants beat the cocky, and immature Patriots in Superbowl 42, it is un-realistic. Because of this I pick the Patriots by 3 points. I’m a Bears fan though so I will be watching to see Tom Petty at halftime. ;-)

    Bol’s Pick:

Warning: as a Colts fan I abhor the Patriots with every fiber of my being. That being said I think that they will unfortunately pull out the victory.  Despite the recent performance by the Giants and supposed injuries (mainly Tom Brady’s ankle)  I officially pick the Pats by a touch down or field goal.

Rudy Giuliani’s all Florida strategy back fired tonight as he came in 3rd in the Florida GOP primary. It has been reported that he will be giving his support to John McCain, who came in first. However, his speech did not reflect this, rather it reflected a man who was poised to continue running despite the set back. It is unclear at this point where Giuliani’s supports will go if he does in fact drop out of the race for the GOP nomination.

John McCain took first place in Florida by a very small margin over former Governor Mitt Romney. This victory for McCain many think is due to Florida’s Governor Crist endorsing McCain earlier this week. Romney placed a close second, looks ahead to the Maine caucus on Sunday, and Super Tuesday, a week from today.

Mike Huckabee came in 4th close behind Giuiliani and regaurded this as good news for someone who spent very little time and money in the state of Florida.

    Finally,

The estimated delegate count (reported by the Washington Post) is as follows as of Jan. 29th:

    Republicans (1,191 needed):

    1. McCain 93
    2. Romney 59
    3. Huckabee 40

    Democrats (2,025 needed):

    1. Clinton 249
    2. Obama 181
    3. Edwards 56

Hey Rudy, next time you go to Florida for an extended amount of time, don’t forget your 30 SPF!!

The spoof on 300, “Meet the Spartans” topped the box office this weekend (the movies opening weekend) grossing $18.5 million according to box office mojo. Not far behind, and back to the big screen for the 4th time, Rambo! Yes, Rambo, grossing $18.2 million this weekend.

I have yet to see either, and will not be contributing to their gross for this weekend. Instead, “The Bucket List”, which grossed $19.3 million in its first weekend nationwide ;-), will be reviewed by the Zach & Bol show podcast, and I will post my opinion on the movie.

If you’ve seen either Rambo or Meet the Spartans, tell me, did they suit your fancy?

The Duo, Danger Mouse and Cee-Lo, better known as Gnarls Barkley is set to release a new album in April of 2008. Since their 2006 release of “St. Elsewhere” the album has sold over 1 million copies, and the hip-hop/funk duo has enjoyed great popularity.

The track list for the new album is yet to be announced, however the album will be titled “The Odd Couple.” Quite fitting for the duo. Don’t you think?

Anyhow, if this page is displayed funny go here to upgrade your Internet Explorer.

Or go here, to get Mozilla Firefox. Which is by far a better alternative.

This will give you the optimal viewing experience, it should suit your fancy.

Finally, If you are running a Mac, kudos.
