Clinton puts all her eggs in two baskets; Huckabee takes a vacation
February 19, 2008 2:40 pm PoliticsToday three more states total, are up for grabs in the 2008 presidential primary.
For the republicans, Wisconsin, and 19 of Washington (state’s) delegates.
For the democrats Wisconsin, and Hawaii.
Wisconsin holds 74 delegates for the democrats. Neither Barack Obama nor Hilary Clinton are campaigning there today, instead Clinton is putting all her eggs in Texas’ and Ohio’s basket. Other than Pennsylvania and North Carolina, Texas and Ohio are the last two big states, and must wins for Hilary Clinton. Hawaii has 20 delegates for the democrats.
On the republican side, Wisconsin has 40 delegates at stake in a non-winner-take-all primary. Washington state had a caucus two weeks ago, with 40 delegates total, 21 are chosen at the caucus (Feb. 9th), however only 18 were chosen leaving 3 uncommitted. The remaining 19 of Washington’s delegates are chosen in todays primary.
According to the associated press, Mike Huckabee recently left the country for the Cayman Islands to give a paid speech. This is unusual for a presidential candidate, however, Huckabee sure could use the cash.

Makes me wonder how long the Christians are going to put up with Huckabee wasting all the “widow’s mites” that they donate in his self-serving effort to undercut the Republican frontrunner in a lost cause.
He made a big deal about his campaign being funded by the “widow’s mite” a while ago (funny that he doesn’t say that Christian phrase lately–Ed Rollins must have changed the script). Perhaps the Christian’s are starting to discern that he is just another Politician, running on their hard earned money?
